Book Synopsis

Simone, of the Torma shifters, thought she was finished with the world of supernatural's that existed outside of Earth. She'd been there, done that, and had the near-death experience to show for her time.

Then, a summons back to Valdor- The vampire world- is dropped in her lap.

Turns out that the last time she was there, her teeny tiny mistake sent out an energy burst that called to an ancient, powerful master. A master who is looking for a mate and wants Simone to participate in the Selection to prove her worth. Attendance is non-negotiable.

Lucky for her, she still has one ally up her sleeve: Lucien.

Okay, yeah, he's a snarly, powerful, frustratingly perfect master himself, but at least she knows where she stands. Lucien agrees to enter himself as a master-looking-for-a-mate in the Selection so they can pretend to fall for each other.

Only, it's never been that simple with Simone and Lucien, and all too soon, the lines between pretend and real get very blurry, especially when there's feeding involved.

* This is a standalone in the Shadow Beast world and does NOT end on a cliffhanger. It is full length at 110k words, and it is advised to read the first four in the Shadow Beast world first (Rejected, Reclaimed, Reborn, Deserted) to get the most enjoyment from the story. Not required, though. This is an enemies-to-lovers story with action, snark, anti-heroes, and steam. It is recommended for 18+ due to the storyline and situations.

The Hook

I'm excited to embark on this thrilling journey with Lucian and Simone. The synopsis hints at a captivating transformation from feigned interest to genuine affection, and I can't wait to see how their story unfolds. With another powerful vampire vying for Simone's attention, Lucian may be forced to confront a formidable foe to protect the woman he loves.

I sincerely hope this installment minimizes the presence of Mare and Shadow. While they were prominent in the previous book, perhaps to the detriment of Angel and Reece's storyline, I trust Jaymin has learned from this and will keep Mare and Shadow's involvement within the vampire world to a necessary minimum this time.

I dove into the world of Valdor, captivated by the fiery clash between Simone and Lucian. Jaymin Eve's vivid storytelling drew me into the heart of their tumultuous relationship, where passion and danger intertwined. Simone's unwavering spirit and Lucian's guarded heart created a dynamic tension that kept me hooked.

The stakes were high as Colin, the menacing master vampire, threatened to claim Simone for his own. The thrilling chase scenes and bone-chilling encounters had my heart pounding. Yet, amidst the chaos, the simmering attraction between Simone and Lucian ignited a steamy romance that sizzled off the pages.

Jaymin Eve's skillful character development brought Simone and Lucian to life, making them both relatable and unforgettable. I found myself rooting for their love story, eager to see how they would overcome the obstacles in their path. Jaymin Eve truly kept me engaged with the story, and I can't wait to read the next book, Glamoured, the last book in the Shadow Beast Shifters series.
