Book Synopsis

The epic conclusion to the Shadow Beast Shifters.

I finally have the life I always dreamed of. So why does it taste like ash on my tongue?

Growing up in Torma, the strongest of the shifter packs, I wanted nothing more than to find my true mate and live my best life. Of course, that dream existed before my father betrayed the pack and turned me into their punching bag.

I’d all but give up until a quirk of true mate genetics gifted me a true mate like no other.

It seems my childhood dreams were finally a reality. Funny how quickly dreams turn into nightmares.

I’m being lied to and missing weeks and months of time. Someone messed with me, and no matter how often I’m told to forget it and move on as Torin’s mate, there’s no way I can. Whoever did this to me should have known I’d pick at it until it bled. It’s my nature, after all.

As I search out random growls, flutters in my chest, and a suspicion that there’s so much more going on than I could even imagine, I sense that I’m racing against an unknown clock.

I need to get to the bottom of this mystery.

And when I figure out who stole my memories, they’re going to wish they never messed with Mera Callahan.

Game on.

*If you like sexy, dark paranormal romances with humor, steam, action, a tough heroine, and an antihero, this is for you.

Reborn is full-length (115k) words, is the final in the Shadow Beast Shifters series, and does NOT end on a cliffhanger. It's recommended for 18+ due to language and sexual situations.

The Hook

Join me as I delve into Reborn, the next exhilarating chapter in Jaymin Eve’s Shadow Beast Shifters series. The last book, Reclaimed, ended with an intense twist: Mare was ripped from the shadow world and away from Shadow by Dani, the formidable mother of all shadow beasts. Now, as Reborn begins, Mare finds herself unceremoniously thrust back into the Torma pack, where she’s expected to resume life as the alpha mate to Torren. But from what I can gather, things are far from smooth for Mare. With missing weeks and months haunting her return, there’s an itch she’s determined to scratch, and I can’t wait to see where this search for truth leads her.

I’m especially eager to witness how Mare handles being back in Torma, surrounded by old expectations and dynamics she’s outgrown. Personally, I hope she gives Torren exactly what he deserves—a swift kick in the ego (or lower) and a reminder that she is no longer the submissive outcast he once knew. To me, Torren has always embodied a chauvinistic pig, and I’m rooting for Mare to knock him down several notches and reclaim her power and voice.

So, let’s dive into this latest adventure in Reborn, where betrayal, resilience, and strength are sure to intertwine. Will Mare unravel the mysteries that Dani’s intervention left behind? Will she reclaim her independence and forge her path away from those who took her for granted? I’m ready to find out, and I invite you to join me as this wild, emotional ride continues.

Book Review

"Reborn" by Jaymin Eve is an exhilarating blend of adventure, action, fantasy, paranormal romance, magic, and mythical creatures. The book offers an intriguing narrative, and Jaymin excels in crafting the various worlds that the adventurers explore.

In the beginning, Mare finds herself trapped in a world she doesn't understand, alongside the Torrma pack and her supposed mate. However, when she returns to Shadow, the real adventure begins. While the first part of the book may be a bit slow, the pace quickens significantly in the middle, leading to a flurry of action.

One of the most challenging aspects is enduring the monotony of the Torrma pack and the overbearing attitude of Torrin, Mare's infuriating and self-entitled mate. I wouldn't say I like Torren, so I was relieved when Mare made her way back to Shadow.

I particularly enjoyed how Jaymin depicts Mare’s return to Shadow. When Dani thrusts Mare back into a life devoid of memories about Shadow and her time spent in the library, it complicates her efforts to assimilate into the pack life she has long desired.

Overall, this is an exciting book filled with significant plot developments. To appreciate the intricate details, it is essential to read it from beginning to end. Jaymin has done an excellent job with character development, and I am eager to see what the next book, "Deserted," has in store

Book Spoilers

Disclaimer: This section might contain Spoilers about the book because, as we read the books we try to provide readers with information that might catch them off guard  and/or trigger them to in one way or another. This is the main reason for this blog was created.

While "Reborn" by Jaymin Eve is a decent read, I would rate it between 3.5 and 4 out of 5 stars, mostly because some elements in the chapters may be concerning for certain readers. For instance, at the end of Chapter 12, there is a scene with Mare and Torrin where she fears he will claim what’s his by forcing himself on her. This could be a triggering event for some individuals who have experienced similar situations, so I would advise caution while reading Chapter 12 and maybe even suggest skipping it entirely.

**Spoiler Alert:**

Now, let’s discuss Torrin; he comes across as an entitled and privileged jerk. Mare shows a lot of patience in dealing with him, but I know I would have reacted much more harshly if he had ever tried to force anything on me the way he attempts with Mare. Although she was lenient with him, I appreciated how she ultimately handled it at the end of the book. Stripping him of his wolf and getting rid of Sicily was poetic justice, considering how they treated her throughout her life, and especially how Torrin acted while trying to become her mate. I also believe that Sam was a blessing for Mare, and seeing herself in Sam helped her break free from Torrin and find her way back to Shadow. I understand that Jaymin needed to have Mare confront her dream life, but that dream came before she met Shadow.

Speaking of Shadow, I can see a lot of his personality traits in my husband. It’s interesting how similar they are. The scene where he burns down the library and cuts off all contact with his friends and the outside world is heartbreaking, showing just how deeply the loss of Mare affected him. I knew from the beginning that Mare and Shadow were true soulmates, and it feels satisfying to have been correct about that.

In conclusion, while the story has many positive aspects, it’s important to note that it also contains adult content and language that may not be suitable for younger audiences.
