So, we left off with the watcher facing off against a foe whose skill nearly surpassed his own, and introduced the merchant guilds whom they were willing to start a war with the elves in order to decimate Angelport with a drug called violet. Now we are introduced to Victor one who is determined to put an end to the underworld of Veldaren once and for all. To me all he does is make room for a possible takeover by other guilds from foreign cities if they sense weakness from Veldaren. It would also seem like the trifect is hanging on by the skin of their teeth. We also find out that Alyssa's mother is alive and was giving to the hands of the gentle touchers.
