Years in the making, Sarah J. Maas's New York Times bestselling Throne of Glass series draws to an explosive conclusion as Aelin fights to save herself―and the promise of a better world.
I'm so excited to finally read Kingdom of Ash, the conclusion to Sarah J. Maas's epic Throne of Glass series! Up until now, the books have been a masterful blend of character development, heart-pounding action, and an intricate game of manipulation, intrigue, and cunning.
I can't wait to see how Aelin's storyline unfolds after the shocking events of the previous book. While I'm desperate for her to be rescued from that dreadful coffin by her loyal subjects: Rowan, Gavriel, Lorcan, and Elide I really hope the entire novel isn't just about that rescue mission. I want to catch up with all the characters I've grown to love, seeing them reunite and prepare for the ultimate battle against the forces of darkness.
But if Aelin ends up stuck in that coffin for the whole book, you can bet I'll be raging! I need to see her badass self in action again. I'm also crossing my fingers that some of my favorite potential couples finally get together Aedion and Lysandra, Rowan and Aelin (obviously), Lorcan and Elide, Yrene and Chaol. The romantic tensions have been building for so long, and I need that payoff!
Overall, I have such high hopes that Maas sticks the landing with this finale and delivers an epic, action-packed, and emotionally resonant conclusion worthy of the journey. I can't wait to experience it all!
As the final installment in Sarah J. Maas's beloved Throne of Glass series, "Kingdom of Ash" delivered an epic conclusion that left me both satisfied and heartbroken. The raging battles were intense and gripping, with the fate of the world hanging in the balance. Maas did an excellent job of weaving together the various storylines and character arcs, culminating in a climax that was both exhilarating and emotionally charged.
While the heart-wrenching scenes tugged at my heartstrings, it was the poignant farewells and immortal swan songs that truly resonated with me. Saying goodbye to characters I had grown to love over the course of the series was bittersweet. Maas's beautiful writing and attention to detail made these final moments all the more poignant and memorable.
As I turned the last page, a profound sense of melancholy washed over me. The series had come to an end, and I would no longer be able to immerse myself in the rich world and captivating adventures of these beloved characters. While I was grateful for the satisfying conclusion, I couldn't help but feel a lingering disappointment that this incredible journey had reached its destination.
While Sarah J. Maas's "Kingdom of Ash" is part of a fantasy series with intense battles and mature themes, readers should be aware that the book does contain some adult content. There is occasional use of strong language and mild suggestive situations. However, the majority of the content is suitable for a young adult audience. Maas handles any adult elements with discretion, and the book avoids gratuitous or overly explicit material. Overall, "Kingdom of Ash" can be considered a relatively tame read in terms of adult content, with the primary focus being on the epic fantasy storyline and character development.
My favorite scene in Sarah J. Maas's "Kingdom of Ash" is undoubtedly the swansong of the Thirteen. This epic battle sequence left me on the edge of my seat, and the emotional weight of the events was simply staggering. The fact that Manon was kept out of the fight only added to the poignancy, as the Thirteen faced their fate without her.
As they yielded one by one, taking down the tower and Manon's grandmother, the dreaded Matron of the Black Beaks, I couldn't help but feel my heart shatter. The image of Astrid yielding right in the Matron's face was a moment of pure, karmic justice that sent chills down my spine. Karma truly was a bitch in that moment, and I reveled in the satisfaction of seeing the villainous Matron brought down
Yet, amid the triumph, there was a profound sense of loss. My dreams of the Thirteen reuniting in their lands in the Wastes were crushed, and I mourned the fate of these incredible characters. The Thirteen, including the fierce Manon, had become some of my favorite characters in the entire series, and their swansong was both awe-inspiring and heartbreaking.
Lysandra, my second favorite character after the Thirteen, played her own pivotal role in the epic events, further cementing her place as a beloved figure in the story. This sequence was undoubtedly one of the highlights of the book, a true testament to Maas's masterful storytelling and her ability to evoke powerful emotions in her readers.
