T. A. White is a brilliant writer and I love the depth of her characters as they develop in this story. Even the secondary characters like Buck, Aimen, & Clark have just enough history and background to keep the reader interested and engaged in their story as well. You root and cheer for them, you feel their sorrow and happiness, you even feel their laugh at their antics. It take a good author to engage a reader this way and T.A. White hit’s it out of the park with this book.
In this book there is a part where it is uncovered that Mist a little orphan girl that Shea saves, is abused physically. She has burn marks, Broken bones, and old bruises that are healing. It is clear that this child has been misused, but this part of the book might trigger someone who has been abused themselves. Please be aware that this is the only part of this book that might trigger someone, (Disclaimer: If you or someone you know is being abused please contact this free 800 hot line to get them help.
