In this next book of the broken lands, we follow Eva a heard Mistress, that is training to have one day a heard of her own. Little does she know she is about to get her wish. Stumbling upon Sabastian a Wing Horse (called a Kirin) in need of help, Eva frees him from a barbed net that was used to restrain him, her action caused her to draw the attention of not only the Kirin but the Warlord Fallon as well.

Tasked with the job of getting a treaty with the Kirin, Eve is joined by Fallon’s most Trusted Anitary Caden who is given the job of escorting Eva and Sabastian to the herd lands. But more then Eva’s life is on the line as she journeys to Kirin’s territory, a small rebellious army of lowlanders are also trying to recapture Sabastian to use him as a way to try to defeat the Trateri.

This book is pack with adventure, love, trust, and Mysterious creatures that are called to Eva because has the ability to call all type of creatures to her. This book takes place almost a year after Shea defeats the Old One in the bad lands and is another great book by T.A. white. I love how this book picks up with another heroine that is much like shea, in the way that she protect those she counts as her own. There is tons of detail in this book and T.A. White is an amazing author.
