And she’s not the only ill one. The magical creatures of the Other Realm are falling sick – even the supposedly immortal ones. The illness is striking two by two like a plague filled Noah’s Ark. The mermen asked for help first, but it turns out they’re just the tip of the iceberg.
Gato and I need to find the source of the sickness, to stop it spreading and to find the antidote. Emory’s adoptive parents are two of the ones that have fallen sick and I can’t watch him lose his pseudo parents when I’ve already lost mine. I’ll do anything to save the stricken victims - even if it means working with my parents’ own killer…
I know this much, the illness isn’t natural, and whoever is behind this has nothing but sinister intentions
I need to find the perpetrator.
I need to find the cure.
And I need to work out how I feel about Emory. I don’t know which task will be harder…
3 Okay so in the last book, we find out that Lucy Jinx’s best friend is sleeping within an incubus and the incubus is taking advantage of her by feeding off of her repeatedly, which is a big no-no in the other realm. We also find out that Stone was undercover with the drug cartel and that’s why he was no longer temporarily out of Jinx’s life. But that’s not all that’s going on here, Gato has been using his powers to keep Lucy alive which is why he looked so tired and out of it. You see that’s why Gato is an awesome dog he’s a lifesaver. Now to the goodies.
I’m Hoping to See More Interaction between Emory and Jinx because I think that’s going to be an awesome combination and a steamy hot sensation. Mostly I want to see what happens in the love triangle between Stone, Jinx, and Emory. I’m also interested in seeing what they divulge about the myths of the incubus because I’m a big mythology person and I love the myths and legends about mythical creatures, especially the Fay. Needless to say, as I’ve said before I’m excited to read this book so let’s jump right in.
Okay, let me first start by saying this is not a slow-burn romance, it is a snail race romance, little bit of a spoiler here they don’t get together till the end of the book which is ridiculous. We’ve had enough of the teasing what’s with all the teasing? Let’s get to the good stuff already, nope were going so slowly that I think the turtle passed them a mile back. Okay, enough with the ranting. All in all, besides the “Slow-Burn” romance, the book isn’t half bad, Jinx pulls out some awesome magic and there is a lot of suspense and drama in the book.
As in the other books, Heather has really good descriptions and explanations that put you in the place of the characters. But this book is just the beginning, from the cliffhangers at the end of this book, things are just about to start getting interesting. I hope the next one is more satisfying in the romance department than this one was. But I’m excited to get started on the next book, so catch you in the next blog.
There is a scene in this book where Jinx goes back to the past, and she meets Emory for the first time as a child. He’s being bullied and beaten up and she interferes to protect him or is pressured into doing things that make them uncomfortable. Other than that, aside from some language comments to look out for the book isn’t that bad that we need to worry about disclaimers.
