I’m supposed to be meeting with Emory’s dragon Court and amazing them with my suave wit and shining intellect. Instead, I’m on the trail of a kidnapper. Someone has stolen away a centaur teenager, Alfie, from a magical circus. The circus master hired me and Gato to find out who took him – hopefully before Alfie swims with the fishes.
The problem is no one in the circus is who they say they are. The Other Circus is a front for a magical underground, helping those that want to leave their magical lives far behind. They’ve spent years keeping their heads down and their mouths shut and it’s going to take more than asking nicely to get this bunch to crack.
The clock is ticking, not just to find Alfie, but also for me to impress Emory’s dragon Court. When I finally meet them, I’m going to have to pass through a series of consort challenges before they recognize me as Emory’s intended mate. Oh, and they won’t tell me what’s a challenge, and what’s not. Nothing is what it seems, but luckily I come with an inbuilt lie detector. I’m itching to prove to the standoffish dragon-shifters that I’m more than a pretty face but finding Alfie has to come first.
I’m juggling things as best I can, but all it will take is one wrong move to bring everything crashing down on my head …
I'm beyond excited to dive into the next book in the Emory's Court series by Heather G. Harris. As a huge fan of dragons, I've been waiting with bated breath for the next installment, and I'm thrilled to see what's in store for Jinx and the other dragons. The thought of getting to know them better, to learn more about their struggles and triumphs, has me practically bursting with anticipation.
I have to admit, I'm particularly invested in Jinx's story. I've been rooting for her since the beginning, and I'm eager to see if she'll be able to survive the trials that lie ahead. In my experience, books about dragons and their mates often involve intense battles and clever maneuvering to overcome the challenges. I hope that's not the case this time around, but either way, I'm confident that Jinx has the determination and spirit to rise to the occasion. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that she'll emerge victorious, but most of all, I'm excited to see how her journey unfolds.
As I eagerly await the arrival of this new book, I'm already imagining all the twists and turns that Jinx will face. Will she be able to prove her worthiness as Emory's mate? What kind of challenges will she need to overcome? And what role will the other dragons play in her journey? I'm sure that Heather G. Harris has some amazing surprises in store for me, and I can't wait to find out what's next for Jinx and the rest of Emory's Court. Bring on the adventure!

And then, I stumbled upon the most magnificent creature - a Phoenix that exists in this reality! Can you imagine anything more thrilling? As I read about this majestic being, I couldn't help but feel an overwhelming sense of awe and wonder. If I were ever to be a wizard in this reality, I would absolutely want my spiritual animal to be the Phoenix. There's something about its fiery spirit and regenerative powers that speaks to me on a deep level.
But enough about my fantasy - let's talk about the actual story! "Challenge of the Courts" is an absolute thrill ride from start to finish. The plot is expertly woven, with Jinx and Emery facing one challenge after another as they navigate the complex world of magic. And at the heart of it all is Jinx, preparing to become the Prima of the Dragons. I won't lie, I was on the edge of my seat as she faced trial after trial, proving her worthiness to be with Emery. And let me tell you, she absolutely rocks it! With her impressive skills and cunning, it's no wonder she emerges victorious time and time again.
Heather G Harris has once again delivered a masterclass in storytelling. Her writing is elegant and engaging, drawing me in from the very beginning and refusing to let me go. The characters are richly drawn and complex, with their own motivations and desires driving the plot forward. And did I mention the Phoenix? Okay, I'll say it again - it's amazing!
