Book Synopsis

The only one who can save Sera now is the one she spent her life planning to kill.

The truth about Sera’s plan is out, shattering the fragile trust forged between her and Nyktos. Surrounded by those distrustful of her, all Sera has is her duty. She will do anything to end Kolis, the false King of Gods, and his tyrannical rule of Lliseeum, thus stopping the threat he poses to the mortal realm. Nyktos has a plan, though, and as they work together, the last thing they need is the undeniable, scorching passion that continues to ignite between them. Sera cannot afford to fall for the tortured Primal, not when a life no longer bound to a destiny she never wanted is more attainable than ever. But memories of their shared pleasure and unrivaled desire are a siren’s call impossible to resist. And as Sera begins to realize that she wants to be more than a Consort in name only, the danger surrounding them intensifies. The attacks on the Shadowlands are increasing, and when Kolis summons them to Court, a whole new risk becomes apparent. The Primal power of Life is growing inside her, pushing her closer to the end of her Culling. And without Nyktos’s love—an emotion he’s incapable of feeling—she won’t survive her Ascension. That is if she even makes it to her Ascension and Kolis doesn’t get to her first. Because time is running out. For both her and the realms.

The Hook

Wow, So the Primal of Death cannot Love. This is shocking since Sera was trained her whole life to kill him once he fell in love with her. I knew she was going to fall in love with him too and not be able to go through with killing him. But I am rather disappointed in Sera's skills as an assassin, I was hoping that her training would allow her to at least stand up against gods since she was trained to kill Primals who are more powerful than gods. But Ash is a badass, he can incinerate people, turn them into nothing more then Ash in the wind.

What I am Hoping to See in This Book:

I am still really hoping to see how Sera and Ash create the wolven, and now that we know Sera is the primal of life, I am hoping that she goes through her culling in this book and that she somehow gets Ash to actually fall in love with her. I am also hoping to see a little bit more of the Draken and their powers unleashed.

Book Review

Ok, so not exactly what I was hoping for but close and still a good read. A Light In The Flame is an electrifying novel that seamlessly blends action and romance to create a truly gripping story. I love how Jennifer Armentrout masterfully crafts scenes filled with heart-pounding action sequences that keep readers on the edge of their seats. From daring escapes to intense battles, the book is relentless in its pace, ensuring that there is never a dull moment. Furthermore, Armentrout's attention to detail is truly remarkable. Her vivid descriptions of the characters and settings make it easy for readers to immerse themselves in the story. Whether it's a sweeping landscape or a tense confrontation, every moment is brought to life with precision and clarity. The author's ability to paint such a vivid picture with words truly sets this book apart. In addition to the thrilling action, A Light In The Flame also weaves in a beautiful romance that is both heartwarming and intense. The chemistry between Ash and Sera is palpable, and their emotional journey is just as engaging as the physical challenges they face. Armentrout expertly balances these two elements, creating a story that is as thrilling as it is emotionally resonant. Overall, A Light In The Flame is a must-read for fans of action-packed romance novels.
